Meeting the challenges of
Living Well
in the Community
Presented by
Philip
McCallion, Ph.D. ACSW
Professor in
the School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany and co-Director of
the Center for Excellence in Aging and Community Wellness.
With a growing
population interested in continuing to be active and to live in the
community settings they choose there are challenges given chronic illness and
late onset disability for some, reduced support of aging-specific programs
and a feeling among many older adults that available provision does not
meet their needs. This presentation will review innovative program models
to support successful aging and the role of university-based researchers
both in investigating innovation and in ensuring its effective
dissemination.

The History of Albany’s Rapp Road Community
Presented by
Jennifer Lemak, Ph.D.

The Rapp
